First Feedback is in from Architecht

I just recieved an email from my friend emily who was responsible for getting my job with her studio.

And we’re mad impressed, congrats! Eugene LOVED it – it’s really really special for an architect to see something they created taken such good care of in a photograph. It’s like their kid or something. I’ve rarely seen my boss this excited. We LOVED your pictures!

A few things:
All the images were fantastic, and we especially liked the angled shot of the canopy (looking straight up the column) and the blurry squiggly shot; also the overall entrance shots were great too – the metal canopy picking up the red brick color is way cool. Good job with the artistic side of building photography, it’ll sell well here!

Angled canopy shot is probably getting framed for the office, that’s how much he liked it.

Eugene did ask if there were any images taken from the end glass curtain wall corner – to show how it wraps around the end of the building (I think that would be a view from the street? I haven’t been to the site in a long time) And perhaps a really dark night shot – except I know you said those didn’t turn out well. If you have those/could re-shoot a few, that’d be sweet.

Send us an invoice so we can pay you And then jump on the next one, haha, it looks like you have your work cut out for you! And Eugene asked if you wanted to be recommended to some of our contractors and/or our realtors, what do you think?

New Gig

I picked up 2 more gigs for Regent University today. I also have a friend who wants me to do some headshots for their portfolio. 3 "jobs" within a 24 hr period! I'm pretty stoked about that. I am still however contemplating this hooding ceremony for the Regent school of Divinity... I just don't think I'll have the resources to set up and do what they are looking for... providing an opportunity for the grads to purchase their photo...

Way off the beaten path

Last weekend my good friend Dan Molochko came home for Spring Break from FUS. He and another friend of mine wanted to go mudding... and needed some "documentation." I went on my first off-roading experience and got some good shots along the way. It was a lot of fun to play with my D200!

Hamrick Longboards

During the Missioners of Christ High School Retreat at the Triple R Ranch is Chesapeake, we were given a whole HR of free-time. During this time, Ben Hamrick (owner/creator) of Hamrick Longboards, and myself journey with some of the youth to the skate park. During this time, Ben and I broke into a little photo shoot for his website he's getting started. Here's a few of the images.

The beginning

This is a blog of an aspiring photographer. I'll post photos and different events I'm beginning to do and I look forward to seeing how the images progress over time.

Right now I'm working on a few projects and gearing up for my first major shoot. It's looking like I'll be the photographer for Regent University's Graduate School of Divinity's hooding ceremony! Wow... Any tips are more than welcome.
