This weekend, I was so privileged to make the trek from Virginia Beach to DC to help Anne Ruthmann shoot a wedding for a truly amazing couple. Anne isn't just any photographer, she's actually based in Terre Haute, Indiana and is flown all over the US to photograph weddings. And if that's not enough, she's also an internationally award winning photographer... a few times over... Needless to say, I was blessed to be invited to work with her! We also had such a blast hanging out! I am a little bummed however, we never did get to jump on the beds...
The wedding itself was wonderful. The brides father was a career Marine and as he is no longer here, the wedding started with a tribute to her father at the Marine Corps Memorial, Iwo Jima. They met and saw each other for the first time at the monument and then laid a matching lily of her bouquet along with her family. After the laying of the flowers, they made their way towards the Carillon bell tower and had a small intimate ceremony with family next to a large oak tree, over looking the DC skyline. Fall finally made it's appearance just in time for the wedding, and we also had amazing color!
After the ceremony, they headed to the "Hotel Tabbard Inn" for a family brunch. After a short break, we then headed to the "Clarendon Ballroom" for the black tie optional reception with all of their friends and family. The day was full of so many fun people and details so, I am going to post quite a few pictures... but, I don't think you'll mind.
